“Light pressure: Just enough to keep the razor against your skin; The blade edge will do the rest”

When it comes to using a traditional razor (safety or straight) one of the key habits to learn is keeping the pressure light. This sometimes seems counter intuitive, however, shaving is all about removing the hair, and not the skin.
- The amount of pressure you should should be just enough to keep the razor against skin. The blade edge will do the rest. (This does take some practice, and there is a bit of a learning curve.)
- Use the audio feedback from the razor to ensure that the blade is shaving.
- As mentioned, we want to shave the hair and not the skin, however, removing some of the top layer of skin is unavoidable. We should strive to keep this to a minimum.
Take care , stay safe, and keep on shaving!
